things to like: No worries about all of the "good games" being sold out before the con starts – they reserve a good number of spots for day-of registration. also in town: - Burpee Museum of Natural History (burpee dot org) (their dino and fossil exhibit includes Jane, the most complete and best-preserved juvenile T. Rex ever discovered!) - Anderson Japanese Gardens (andersongardens dot org). I happily note that they've extended their season this year. Gardens and restaurant open through Sunday, November 10. Garden closes at 4:30 pm. |

Checked out the website and it doesn't appear to feature historical gaming. |

Old Contemptible…. No it does not feature historical gaming… Rock-Con is all inclusive so I think you would find it difficult to say it features any particular group other than in person gaming :) I did click on their Badge Registration Link above and then under Attend there is an events button to click…Under miniatures there were several that are what you are looking for like- Austerlitz Bayonets Under The Mist- Operation Barbarossa The Road to Smolensk-America Secures and Empire- on several others I can tell you as a former vendor of about 8 gaming shows a year, Rock-Con is one of the best ran events I have ever been to… they had volunteers in shirts that said "Minion" on their backs and they helped us unload/Load back out- and I was shocked! The attendance numbers were excellent… Plenty of gaming of all sorts going on so it is a really fun experience…. No, I do not benefit nor am I involved in anyway with this event but I wanted to add to the conversation in a way that was hopefully beneficial :) |

Right now there are just about 61 events listed, of which 24 are Historical Miniatures. So while not over half they certainly have the lion's share in any one category. I have been a fan since the early 80's and Rock Con has always delivered. The event is one of the highlights of mini gaming in the fall. This year as in previous years your HMGS-Midwest GMs will be there in force to support them. Come on down and and join us. |
