I recently was on the Essex Miniatures website looking at 19th Century Colonials. I was surprised they were selling nude 28mm Fuzzy Wuzzies. I mean the full Monty. What's up? I don't remember Mahdists running around the desert in their birthday suit. |

If you look at this contemporary painting of the battle of Tamai you will see a bare-naked tribesman crouched down just by the gatling gun. The artist, Godfrey Douglas Giles, was a lieutenant in the Bombay Staff Corps at the battle so as an eye witness he should know what was worn… or not… link |

Fine. My miniatures will wear clothes unless they are ancients. Perhaps this Fuzzy Wuzzy's forgot to wear them into battle. |

Yeah. Not the sort of nude figures I'm interested in either--though oddly the spear-armed warriors have fewer sharp pointy bits than Tango's usual contribution. |
