Has anyone heard about Victric's 12mm DAK infantry set that was supposed to come out months ago? Right after the 8th Army set? I could find nothing on their website nor on Facebook. They keep announcing new medieval figures and terrain and their new rule book, but nothing on this forgotten series of figures. Any news from our friends in England? |

Good question so I asked it on their Facebook page. link |

As far as I can tell, they have a few Facebook pages! Here was the last information we had: Victrix Miniatures February 24 · 12mm British 8th Army infantry & Anti-tank Guns: Now Shipping! We are excited to announce our newest 12mm WW2 release is British 8th Army infantry. This 164 figure set contains all you need for a British and Commonwealth infantry company and heavy weapons platoon. You can use these for the North African campaign 1940 to 1943 to the invasion of Sicily and southern Italy fighting the Italians and Germans and also fighting the Japanese in Southeast Asia. What do you get? - 80 x Riflemen - 8 x Thompson submachine guns - 12 x Bren gunners - 4 x Antitank rifles - 4 x Mine detectors - 8 x Officers - 4 x 2inch Mortar teams - 4 x 3inch mortar crews - 4 x Radio operators - 4 x 2pdr Antitank guns Adding the 2pdr Antitank guns is a new innovation for this set which adds a bit of extra firepower for your infantry. The detail and animation is really superb on these little fellas, from bayonet charges to advancing to firing their weapons in varied poses. This is the first infantry expansion into the North African campaign and will be shortly followed by the Afrika Korps. We already have German Panzer IV's, 88mm Guns and Bren Gun carriers can be used in the desert and we will follow this up wit extra vehicles for the British and Germans and Italians. This was in February! Maybe "shortly" has a different meaning in England? Here is the other Facebook page: facebook.com/victrixlimited I can't figure out how to post a new topic, only comment on existing ones. sigh… |

"I can't figure out how to post a new topic, only comment on existing ones." On that page you can only write comments on posts that Victrix starts. That is why I posted on their other page. Still can't figure out why my post was deleted as I read the page rules and nothing I said broke them as far as I can tell. |

Still, good on ya for trying, Machinehead! Since the decal guy came back Ancients have had the priority with Victrix. Let's hope the management goes back to some more adult leadership (read that as one that will stop forsaking their 1/144th customers because they don't need shield decals for their armies!) |

Hi, All. I got a response from Victrix. My email and the response below: When can we expect to see these released? Seems like the only new releases are 28mm Medieval. Is that due to the Little Big Man studios assuming control of Victrix? I sure hope you don't ignore your other historical customers. Thanks. Tom Dye USA Victrix Support To: me, and 2 others · Wed, Aug 20 at 8:24 AM Message Body Hi Tom, Thank you very much for your email. The DAK should hopefully be out in the next few months. I'm not sure why acquiring LBMS would change anything. We assumed control of LBMS, not the other way around. Whilst I would love to be able to say we will focus on all ranges equally, that's not how the business works unfortunately. There are multiple reasons why we are focusing more on 28mm stuff at the moment. One reason is the simple fact that our 12mm range makes up less than 10% of our sales. We are in a very competitive market, and as anyone would, we have to focus on the things that will give us the best chance of success. Resources are limited and we have to prioritise. We aren't ignoring customers, we are just trying to run a business so we can continue to make cool miniatures. Kind regards, James Head of Marketing |

In other words you'll get them when we feel like making them. :D Thanks, Tom, for doing some digging. |

Tom, tanks for the update! I can appreciate their choosing the financially sound route! I have a fair amount of their 28mm figures and can understand the need to support the hot items! Medieval seems to be going thru a renaissance! |

Have all the 12mm models and sets shown on their website been released? That's a good core lineup for say 1943+, and some kits allow multiple variants to be made (or with turrets able to be refitted out for upgrades). Matter of fact, where's all the AARs showing this good stuff being gamed with??? |

All of their boxes are available! I should know as I have many of them! When the 88 came out, I nearly had a heart attack trying to get a box! I have nearly every British and German box, including the starter set, which I got to dip my toe in the water. I have multiple Sherman, Pz IV, and Panther boxes. I HAD to get 3 boxes of Bren carriers alone! I've supplemented these with a sprinkling of 3D printed and Japanese kits. Some Stuarts were converted to Recce versions from spare .50 cals. Some M10's were converted to Achilles using spare Panther barrels. A whole box of Priests, that I got at a half-price sale got converted to De-frocked Priests! They are glorious and fun to fiddle with! Tanks all come with optional turret exposed commanders! On a couple, I even opened up the drivers hatch and had the driver's head popping out! (By the way, I adore the exclamation!) The infantry are cleverly attached to the sprue so that you can paint them before detaching! When I did the camo on the Fallschirmjagers, I used paint markers (AK Interactive), and the operation went rather quickly! There is some fiddlyness and a few critics, but my overall experience is very positive! And I have 6 square feet of boxes full of painted miniatures always ready to storm Normandy! |

d88mm1940 – you did good!!! I don't see anyone in my gaming area with your enthusiasm. I've used the AK Interactive paint pens also (a Revelation), and Army Painter is coming out with their versions soon. They made doing the NATO patterns on my 1/500th scale minis possible (as in – so much easier). TMP link Thanks for sending this description of your achievements – and we would enjoy seeing pics sometime, but again, your crafting enthusiasm above shines through! |

I appreciate your interest in these! We all love looking miniatures! However, I'm challenged to post pics here! I know how to, but I loathe 3rd party hosting, but… I can post on Facebook! I know some people here consider FB evil incarnate and would rather go to the dentist than there! But you gentlemen on this here thread seem more enlightened! Hopefully Friday I can post something! |

Was at the Leavenworth Gamers group last Saturday (16 August 25) where Mr. Dunn (not the same guy as one of the developers) set up 6 of the 2 by 4 foot boards and put on a game with GHQ Micro Armor. I shot a few pics but am having problems transferring from my phone to a medium I can post to TMP. Had a really great time and schmoozed with quite a few folks I had not seen in over decade. The even was held in a renovated train station now a community center that was worth the trip from Denver. Mr. Dunn said he also had many more of the now discarded scenery boards at his home. The buildings were (by necessity for the army) wooden blocks with 90 degree triangles for roofs and all unpainted. (Authenticity to the original sets?) A wonderful group of fellow gamers! |

Tom, sounds like quite the experience, on a lot of levels. The Cold War has passed into "history" now, and lets us look back with maybe even better appreciation of the times, certainly than if it had gone Hot! It probably makes for an even better hobby topic now too (for a gaming revisit). |
