So, I've jumped (and I mean JUMPED) into this scale for my company sized gaming. My boards look ok, but I feel like I'm missing that little extra something. Telephone poles, pig pens, gun emplacements etc….battlefield scatter What other battlefield scatter do you include. And the big question, where do you buy it from? I feel like most of this stuff is from the UK which is super hard for me to order from since I live in the states. Appreciate any tips & suggestions. |

Xpforge.com does a lot of resin stuff and is open to rescaling. |

Yep, N scale items. Also look on Etsy. Model railroaders have been 3d printing some pretty cool stuff. |

Make your own shell holes, for example - TMP link
There's a theory (my own) of how to create tension and foreshadowing on a miniature tabletop (it can be almost subliminal, but it's there for the gamer's eye to pick up). Scatter indications of previous fighting – shell holes around intersections, or vehicle tracks at points of constriction, gates opened, or fences destroyed (the latter can be combined with tracks or shell hole damage too, for added intensity).
Make combined terrain pieces, by modifying/adding to pre-made stuff works, if you want little vignettes to scatter about, but if you can embed (glue) some of the stuff to your gaming surface, like hedgerows, foliage, shell holes, it'll be there for the next time you get the game on. In the digital texturing world, this can be termed "noise" – it's there to fill in blank spaces with a 'pretense' of something (say, like fog of war). TMP link |
