One question. I see that every game is set for 4 hours. Do all the games actually last that long? Not into long games. |

@Grattan54 No. Some games run considerably shorter, or even do repeats. But when you have 8 guys at a table, all taking turns to do complicated things while not knowing the rules well (or at all), you wind up with games running longer than if two guys familiar with the game played. My Battle of Five Armies ran the full time— 8 guys, turns that expand based on combat results, in Warmaster (and I confess to getting a few rules wrong myself). But Space Hulk went very quickly— 4 players, very simple rules and action choices. The dungeon crawl could have gone quicker, but we had too many players and too many figures, IMO, which slowed an otherwise rapid game down. The WW1 air battle also could have ended sooner, but every time a plane went down, the player would be offered a new one to fly into the fray, and all accepted. (I had two myself.) And some games never even got to their expected conclusions. |
