"… the Battle of Lake Erie project is finished, at least from the hobby side of things. I haven't had the chance yet to play out the battle, which would require me to either find a pre-made scenario online or scrape together one myself. The version provided in the Hold Fast supplement is woefully inadequate. That may be the subject of a future post in this series, but for now lets get to some pretty pictures of boats in their natural habitat…"

Really nice looking ships! I've been thinking about doing this battle for several years, and went back to look at his earlier posts.

For this year into next (I think) the Niagara is not at the museum in Erie, it is undergoing maintenance in southern Maine.

Not mentioned here, but I personally find it fascinating that the warships would be sunk in relative water to preserve them in case there was another war, kind of like putting them in the refrigerator. Apparently, Lake Erie is cold enough and has no water dwelling wood eating bugs so sinking the ships preserved them.

Great looking game. The other associated blog posts are interesting and deal with the fleets were assembled and what ships were used.

It's a battle that I'd love to game but I want to do it in 1/1200 scale.
