It was a real dream of mine, as lover of history and uniform and as Piedmontese to be able after 281 years to finally draw and prepare the ultimate map of the Battle of Madonna dell'Olmo and the complete Orders of Battle of both French/Spanish Army and Piedmontese/Austrian army. I dedicated to this aim a lot of time and researches, criss crossing different sources (mainly in Italian and Spanish) and coming up to what i think – till now – to be the most detailled map and order of battle of this battle. I will explain in a further post on my bolg how I achieved all this, but for the moment I hope you will like my work and it will inspire you all to wargame and study also this period and this front.
and an extract of the OOB
for all the details, a better view of the map and all the troops that fought at that epic event please visit my blog. link ciao |
