I have noticed that anti-fouling paint, while generally reddish in color, was frequently green in the Mediterranean. I know that the color was the result of the composition of the paint used. I have seen French, Italian and Austro-Hungarian capital ships with green anti-fouling paint. Were there different organisms to be combated in the Mediterranean with the green formulation as opposed to the normal red?
