We did not have enough ammo in the ACW, the Spanish American War, the First World War, in WWII we used British 25 pounders in North Africa and Western Europe because we had a shortage of 105mm ammo. We were short of ammo in Korea, and Vietnam and the Cold War and can't supply enough for Ukraine. Buying aircraft carriers, fighter jets and tanks is sexy. Building ammo factories is dull. As I have said many times before … Those in the WH/DC especially during the last administration put defense of the republic in much lower priority than it ever should have been. Too much money was wasted on too much BS, that was not supported by the majority of US population. Much of that wasted taxpayer $ should have gone to keeping America safe. Not having enough ammo, spare parts, etc. can stop a military in its tracks. The #1 priority is to protect, we the people. That mean having the right equipment with the right logistic support … |

+1 Legion. Colonel, sir, I could not agree with you more. My point was that we did not appear to stop the Houthi madmen with ordinance alone. They are a difficult bunch to get at. I would be looking for covert and logistical interventions. But its not a game, and I don't have any background. |

COL D +1 I think we have to remember after all the blood & treasure lost in Iraq, A'stan, etc. Waste ammo not our lives … But yes the equation will mean many of our enemies will die … and there will be some CD …
Drones, airstrikes, TLAMs, etc. use those … not our blood.
