Australia will buy Japanese "stealth frigates" to upgrade their fleet.

Has Japan changed it policy to sell weapons abroad?

They are exporting to defense partners, which they do now.

Be interesting to see the final price. Australia has a good record of budget blow outs.
But the Japanese ship looks like a good deal, particularly compared to what it is scheduled to replace.

Very good news for the Pacific. Japan has a long history of quality warship development and are tech savvy. The Chinese will not be happy.

Too true, Korsun. CASG has a well-deserved reputation as a money sink and the gun-runners know all the tricks to getting contract change proposals approved. Of more interest to me is where they're going to get the people to play with the new toys we're getting. Recruiting has picked up a bit, but I believe retention hasn't improved.

I see we managed to get back to type in PNG.
Built them a nice $250 USDM harbour for $500 USDM……..

Well, give them some credit- it only cost twice as much as they thought it would, this time.
