The Swedish lieutenant Carl Johan Ljunggren participated in the campaigns of 1813 and 1814 and had been an education in sketching. Beside leaving a memoir with lots of details he also made sketches of troops he saw during the campaigns.

These sketches are preserved in the swedish army museum and are published under the common domain license. So I downloaded the plates and sketches and adopted them for the uniform portal of Napoleon Online.

This source is very useful for the research of the allied forces of 1813-14 like the Elberfeld, Meissen or Landeck manuscripts.

So I think this source will be helpful for all researchers of uniforms and equipment.

Greetings from Berlin

Thank you NapStein. That was very kindly--and well-timed. The Morner Hussars are actually on my painting table. (And now I need to fix the mirliton.)

Invaluable stuff, positive proof that highland regiments didn't wear tartan kilts but short skirts and stockings made from their mum's gingham tablecloth. Also, they wore ‘Belgic' shakos and not Scots bonnets, who'd have thought it.

But these plates are charming, especially the rocket troop, thanks for posting.
