Just to post a little update for our planning for the SYW Con for next spring.
Although these coming days of August often find us on vacation and spending time with our miniatures and books, the planning for next year's Seven Years War Convention is taking no such respite this year.
In case any of you missed the flyers we've had circulating at various conventions this spring and summer, I'll give a brief update about the exciting developments as to plans for spring of 2026.
The dates for the convention are April 16 – 18 and will again take place at the Century Center in Downtown South Bend. We're very close to securing a room block with the hotel and I'll have details in a separate email regarding this specifically as soon as possible so we can all begin to plan for our travel well ahead of time.
Given the historic nature of next year, a preeminent group of 18th century reenactors is planning to collaborate with us and share the space of the Century Center; so plans are definitely afoot to bring a veritable depot of war materiel such as uniforms, weapons, kit, and even a replica cannon.
We're also honored to have secured a new dealer that will bring along some of their specially designed miniatures and rules tailored to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the War for Independence. Warlord Games will be present to showcase the expansive range of Epic Black Powder AWI figures and gaming materials as well as running these games on site.
Other favorite dealers are planning for a return to the SYW convention as well, and I plan to announce details of this in the future.
As you begin to ponder scenarios to run, please remember that the website has an event submission form found here -

Besides this form, there is another form to register interest which really helps us with planning.
There are other fun details we're considering that I will describe in the coming weeks.
Also, I'll take another chance to remind everyone that the convention has always been 'pay at the door' and you should ignore any attempt to solicit funds ahead of the convention as last year we had a malicious actor impersonate Jim McIntyre's email account and this person made multiple attempts to receive funds from various attendees.
