I was looking at an older discussion recently, and one of our US members mentioned that most of the non-Americans he met were on TMP. Do you find yourself making friends on TMP, outside of your country or region? |

Well, certainly nobody that would help me move a body, as Oberlindes suggests. There are a number of folks I'd feel comfortable asking for information from. Where is a good place to eat or look for figures next time I'm in Rome? Why do the British have ships over several centuries named Hero and Leander, but they never seem to be part of the same class?
I've been reading British books for 60-65 years, and unless I make a special effort to pay attention, it simply doesn't register with me that somebody is using British spelling. In fact, on TMP, I will sometimes write back using the spelling they use. Yes, I know I can click on their name here and see where they are from (maybe), but I don't often do that. All of which is to say that I don't always know where people are from. Grelber |

Well, I made friends with a Norwegian, a Greek and quite a few Brits here.

I believe that the comments that our international members make on the forums better reflect the opinions of their countrymen than that depicted in the media (both American and non-American media). This is one of the reasons that I appreciate the comments of our international members. |
