Complete crash and burn trying to reserve a room at the Motel Formerly Known as the Host Resort last night. If the computer is to be believed, all non-vendor rooms were taken three minutes after reservations opened. On the advise of the chain, I tried after the human being arrived this morning. Be advised that the rooms are still showing taken for the night of the 6th, but with persistence, a human can find you one. It appears to be a wonky computer rather than a rush on rooms. |

Definitely the computer. At 6:03 the hotel link said there were no rooms available. Checked back at 6:25 and booked a room. I checked again at 10pm and there were still rooms available |

I consulted the link in the HMGS email yesterday just to see what the group room rate was going to be. It indicated $169 USD per night when the regular rate on their website was $129 USD-149.(??) I checked again today and the site indicated there are no rooms remaining available. Things seem to be progressing normally… |

Using the link in the HMGS email will open the hotel page and automatically fill the dates and group code. With a check in date of 06 NOV, no rooms will be available. Change the check in date to 07 NOV, HMGS Fall-In attendees rooms will show (3 different types of rooms). Decided to call the hotel. The wait for someone in reservations was about 20 minutes. The person indicated the HMGS Fall-In 2025 room block was only for 07-09 NOV 2025. If a room was needed for Thursday, 06 NOV it would be at the regular rate. The confirmation document has my reservation rate the same for all nights. Not confusing at all. :) |

I have now successfully member registered. If I live long enough to reserve "Wally's Basement" tables, I can die a happy man. Who else remembers when this could be done with a half-page form at the previous convention and a check in response to a post card? |
