I've been following the Medieval Wargamer site with quite some time and below is an interesting use of AI to make miniatures come to life.

Question is will the AI sneak an extra little bit out of the movement…

But agreed very interesting and an example of where the hobby could go

Well, that's amazing.

Looks great. So, if you took a whole series of stills during a game your AAR could become a feature film?

that's amazing!

Incredible. Some of those shots are better than movie scenes! I remember a novel from some years back where holographs were used to recreate battles whose results were used to settle legal cases.

I love how the minis step off their bases instead of hovering in mid air.

+1 FilsduPoitou.
I enjoyed the heck out of that! 😁

It looks good, but what does one do with it?

That crap keeps creeping into Facebook miniatures groups. I would rather see just folks actual painting, and they could just enjoy their AI action rendition at home without jamming up everybody's feed.

Even if I don't focus on them, motion vids like that give me vertigo headaches while I'm trying to scroll past.

Can't wait for this fad to pass.

miniMo!

I fear you may have a long wait for this "fad" to pass.

Clearly, for After Action Accounts, etc, this will be the way to go. What might better show the flow of action--and maximize the drama!--in a game than something very like this?

How better to show rules mechanics than this with suitable narration?

What would inspire one to ever better painting, modeling, and terrain making?

I feel rather like an Aztec taking his first taste of gunpowder!

Great Zot!

My first thought was for AAR's. Adding suitable action to the battle would be a welcome relief for a dozen overhead shots of the table.

I agree that AAR's could be a fantastic vehicle for AI. It may be years away but having the program use still photos at the beginning of each turn along with instructions on how to illustrate gunfire, explosions and even weather would be amazing. I might not live to see it but future AAR's could be essentially mini-movies.

AAR would certainly be a use with purpose, and I could avoid them like I avoid game reports with hand held cams that also give me headaches.

The fad for posting short vids on miniatures groups of 'hey, my minis move' is what I'm really hoping will pass. They do not help in the slightest for checking out the painting. They are great for headaches though x_X.

miniMo!

How often a week do you yell out the window, "Get off my lawn, you kids!"?

Which AI are you using? Asked the techno road kill…
