I've been taking advantage of a slow news week to work on the main forum's database, speeding things up. This is a gradual process, but from what I've noticed, it is already a lot easier to post a new topic.
Part of what is happening is that I'm deleting some of the older topics, ones which are no longer useful, including:
* topics with broken links
* Kickstarter announcements/updates
* 'please contact me' topics
* complaints about companies that no longer exist
* questions that nobody answered
* upcoming events from decades ago
* who is attending conventions decades ago
* Yahoo and other extinct sites
* obsolete technical advice
That sort of thing.
Sadly, a lot of links to blogs are invalid because the blogs are gone. A lot of photo links are invalid because the photo websites are gone, or changed their linking policies. And in a few cases, the blogs are still there, but all their pictures are gone. 
If you see a topic you think should be deleted, use the ! button to let us know.
