The paint jobs don't don't stand up to close scrutiny, and I've seen far better on these pages, but my! They do look nice on mass. Still got the undersides of the bases to paint and some ensigns to add. Can't wait until the weekend, when I'll be refighting San Domingo with my lad!

Looking quite nice! I like the basing approach. The FiB fleet packs are a good deal and they now have some more flexible buying options. The sculpts are really nice and there are subtle differences between the various rate ships. They even have a single Santissima Trinidad in some of the Trafalgar fleet packs (although it's not a given). I painted up enough to represent pretty much any scenario between the French (both Bourbon and Napoleon), British and Spanish. I still need to paint up my Danish fleet and the Kastellet for Copenhagen. |

Cheers PAR – it was your minis that I was referencing! This is stage one of me building up all the forces needed for the Mediterranean Campaign of 1798 – I bought the Trafalgar fleet pack which is good value, and it it I got all the 1st and 3rd Rates I needed for both fleets (plus the Santisima Trinidad – one day I will do Trafalgar). BTW – There are quite a few codes which appear in the fleet packs but aren't on the online shop. When I spoke to Wendy at FiB (a lovely company to deal with), she said that these can be ordered separately and just to let her know the codes. |

They do look nice on the table. I like the clear base look. IMO there is no need to paint them. |

My favorite scale and maker for big Age of Sail. I like your paint jobs! |

My 1/3000th age of sail fleets are the old Gallia/Borlase ships & they painted up well. These definitely are better sculpts, as you'd expect from a more recent range. I might get some samples to see if they will work with the ones I have. I'll check out the range and see what useful additions I can make from them. My bases are all magnetised so clear bases are not an option. |

I really like the FIB ships that I own. They paint up nice for the scale and I use them with the board game Flying Colors, where they fit in just fine. |

We've got 1/2400 models based on Trafalgar but have not found a fleet level rule set that works for us. Other than Flying Colours do y'all have any rules to recommend for fleet/squadron level games? |

I've played many a large game such as The Nile and Trafalgar using 'Follow the Admiral's Wake' and usually had a conclusion in 4 hours. |
