Yes you read that right.

A long time ago I made a three platoon US infantry company from the old Baker Company ranges.

Over this year i dug through my lead pile and found enough of the Force of Arms Junction City range to make up another two platoon.

The last year I picked up four sets of Westwind Nam range US infantry. They really do come in multiple styles of helemt, bare/bandana or wide boonie hat. Leading me to order a small bucket of US helmets from TAG.

So far, the A company of Baker based and primed in the tackle box. (120 figures all in 28mm)

Today the first of the Force of Arms platoons got based, with another platoon planned each day or two this week.(34 more 28mm figures) and a monster priming session at the end.

Looking at all the detail on those Force of Arms figures I feel sorry for them as they are kitted down like pack mules with ammo bandoliers and belts and so much. Suddenly I became a bit sad for all those lost beautiful ranges.

Being a bit melancholy I suppose that I had best avoid listening to a Pink Floyd album side or a Ken Burns documentary until this is over?

Nature of the beast. I thought my NLF company was going overboard.

Although I do have several platoons of free world forces.

Not seeing them completed, it is easy to forget that you already have some.

It is also pretty cool seeing the differing sculpting styles and kit load outs.

Second platoon based up yesterday.

Now curses!
All the westwind Nam figures are flak jackets.
Way too different a look to mix with the Force of Arms.

I have enough M50s and M79 men for another platoon.
I also have a command figure and spare radioman for the platoon command.I do have some nine infantrymen left over but these are the figures where the detail was so fine that the barrel tips boke off past the front sight block.

Decision time,do I base the figures with the broken barel tips? No way do I have the vision or skill to fix them.
If I use them and then reduce the other infantry section by a figure each I can flush out the third platoon???

A fix may not be a bad as you think.

1) File down a flat surface and use a pin vice to drill a hole. Replace with pin and cut to size in place.

2) Replace entire front assembly from bits box.

3) Scrap figure. I would never field a figure with that kind of damage.

Third platoon done.

An odd broken barrel figure is hidden away in each section to disperse them. That and reducing the infantry sections from ten men to nine gives me enough to round out the third platoon.

The platoon HQs get three figures each including the PRC25 per, and the company command group gets four with two PRC25s.
