You've got a scenario map, and you need to create some hills. Is there some way to just print out the map in very large scale, so you can trace the outline of the hills you need to build? The Editor finds out...

Back to the Bocage – and to the extreme right wing of British XXX Corps, and a small action by Churchill Crocodile flame-throwing tanks in Normandy, as they fought their way into the town of La Senaudiere on June 14th. The attack was a confused and hurried affair right from the get-go -

At the last moment [Lieutenant] Davies was called forward to meet the CO a little way inside BERNIERES-BOCAGE, where his battalion was being heavily sniped. In the confusion and hurriedly shouted orders, Davies was left with the impression that he was required to advance to LA SENAUDIERE flat out where he would meet the leading companies. As it transpired, they were still in BERNIERES-BOCAGE.

Thus started an armor-only raid against dug-in Grenadiers and tanks of the German Panzer Lehr Division, holding the ground and the town of La Senaudiere.

My game expanded the action to involve a few more Troops of Funnies – Flail tanks and Churchill AVREs of 79th Armoured Division, organized into a composite Squadron to go up against the Lehr.

Here's some pics from our day (the guys enjoyed the scenario so much they played it twice).

Minis used were from various manufactures, and 1/144th scale. Friend and participant Bob, who is heavily into 28mm ACW, lamented he's going to have to get into another period and scale now!

I was happy he and the rest of the guys had a good time.

Fantastic modelling and scenery and that is my thing. That line of Crocodiles up against the hedge. My reading suggests that just one would have the local Heer parading out with hande hoche, before it was too late. Those Germans will need to throw many a 6 for morale, just to hunker down. Another six might be no harm if to survive.

I often thought that if gas could be outlawed after WWI (oh sure, tell the Italians, the Syrians, arguably the US in VN tunnel warfare etc) burning alive a human being might be banned. Nape, flammenwerfers, phosphorus, but too late now. Glad I am too old to be involved.
