"Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and starting the morning with a hearty meal starts the day off on the right foot. One of the most iconic breakfasts is the Full English, also known as the fry-up. This large, satisfying meal has become a staple part of British cuisine. While the exact origins are somewhat obscure, for those who indulge in its fried, greasy goodness, the history of the Full English can be a point of pride…"

When travelling around England several years ago, my wife and I found that the fry-up commonly served at bed-and-breakfast inns gave us plenty of energy for the day. It's rather more than we usually eat for breakfast, but we don't usually walk that many miles each day, so it worked out. |

I will agree wholeheartedly with Oberlindes. I rarely indulge at home, but if I'm traveling, and in the UK, there's nothing better than a proper full English (but cook my eggs firm!) and plenty of hot tea. Bangers, black pudding, and bacon, mmmmm!!! |

We had a family vacation in the UK 30 years ago and stayed at several bed-and-breakfasts. We were never served such a breakfast. The breakfast I recall was an egg, a sausage (banger), toast, and a small fried fish (who knows what). It was generally not well received by our teenage and almost-a-teen daughters. |

We had much the same experience as Ober and Piper when traveling on our Grand British Tour in 1985, especially at B & Bs. My two favorites were a two morning stay in Corbridge where the first day's Full English remains were recycled in an omelet the 2nd day and a home in East Anglia served lamb as one of the meats and the toast was fried in lamb fat. I loved it but my wife was much less happy. Great days lovingly remembered. |

Two Full Englishese in a row. Max. Then porridge thereafter. However, Worth trying: - Kippers (England) - Haggis (Scotland) - Square sausage (Upper Northern England, Scotland) - Laver bread (Wales, very rare – seaweed) - Black pudding (Britland, many varieties) If you are engaging in full exercise then one of these may fulfill, otherwise I recommend: - Oat bran - Ginger powder - Oatibix bisc - Steep above in hot water for five minutes - Natural yoghurt - A range of toasted seeds This will yield: 1. Protein day-start (yoghurt) 2. Alimentary througput (bran and oats) 3. Micro-nutrients (toasted seeds) |

Firm eggs, euch, that's what the fried breads for to soak up the runny bit. Also loin bacon is a modern thing, old fashioned belly bacon might be a thin line of pink in two slabs of fat. Finally it is fried bread not toast, you use the bread to clean up i.e. avoid wasting, any fat in the frying pan. |
