Did the regiments of the 82nd – either parachute or glider – have I&R platoons in Normandy?
I realize jeeps might have been a problem initially, but should have access to them after the first couple of days.

Why is it always poor Tango that suffers this IT challenge? WWII linked to nudes or semi so seems a bit unlikely

I think it is a function of how often he posts. Happens to me, more often than not, on the odd occasion I start a thread.

Korvessa15 Jul 2025 2:08 p.m. PST

I think it happens when two posts get submitted at the same time. It's happened to me a couple of times, usually I get a timed out error and then when I hit the refresh this sort of thing happens.
And I agree with woolshed.

If this site cannot support five threads per day… we are in problem…

Not only you have problems to post… also to crossport… in this same moment it's my five try to crossport this thread (and another one) and …"Application timed out" each time.

Yesterday I killed three theads for lack of patience…

No matter the hour you choose… and I see everyday in the front page duplicated threads (same tittle) because the poor guy insist with the button to post it…

Hope Bill can fixed this problem some day…

If not… people began to quit and no post new threads…

If Armand says this, something to heed.

What can I say? My last four efforts to start a new thread have timed out. Maybe just the luck of the draw, but it does get discouraging.

These are not the cat girls I was looking for.

These could be the cat girls I am looking for. 28mm works for me.

Happy for that!…

If this site cannot support five threads per day… we are in problem…

This isn't a forum restriction. There was a complaint about people posting too many topics in a day, so things they wanted to see were pushed off their (self-configured) front page before they got to them. And a vote.

I don't remember if anyone called you out specifically as a prolific poster (though if they did, probably not in such nice terms ;) ), but I imagine that if the the thread were found you would be at least heavily talked-around as "the problem".

So … who cares?

Well, if this is a social decision, as opposed to a technical limit, the discussion can be raised again and voted on again to either set the limit much higher or remove it altogether.

These are better executed than my cat women, but they only have two breasts.

Truth in advertising, my sci-fi cat women only have two, mostly because I was too lazy to sculpt the others on.

And a vote….

There were never a vote… It was Bill decision from one day to another … maybe because people complain… how many we never know…

The problem is not the number of threads… the problem is that we have problems to post any new thread… one, two or five…

Agree about to vote about it now… but untill Bill can fixed the isue…

Seems to me there's likely a problem with topic id generation. Somehow, what should always be unique like a new guid is not always.

Well, Tango, before Bill cracked down, you used to start 30 threads per day.
On at least one day, you started 36.
So now, you can "ONLY" post 5. But usually it's 6, with spare ones in Plus. 🤷

I TRY to start a new thread every other day. I have almost given up on Poll Results and News.
Occasionally I have a brief period of 3 or so days when my membership is fully active. As of now, I'm on a schedule where I'm constantly reminded that this site is unsafe. So, no icons show up. I can't see the bar on Polls that show where I stand. It's pointless for me to start anything new, because it will time out. And if I do get one, there's a duplicate thread.

I CAN answer a started thread, but am constantly reminded that it's "unsafe" and "are you sure?"
Harrumph.

Andy ONeill19 Jul 2025 3:51 p.m. PST

30 threads a day? I work on betting systems. We routinely handle 2,000 price requests per second. 30 a day is too many????

Personal logo John the OFM Supporting Member of TMP19 Jul 2025 7:03 p.m. PST

If your Front Page can hold 200 threads, yes. 30 per day is outrageous.
