Having a large collection means having a place to store it.
Not just store it but having a location where it is safe from danger. Insects, rodents, UV light can all damage your collection. Water, both liquid and as moisture in the air can cause problems too.

I have lost paper buildings to a water heater leak, and vehicles to a rodent infestation over the decades and even the pet dog chewing stuff. Happily Duke Da Dawg is a very good boy and that is never an issue with him.

Not only safety for the collection but also the ability to quickly located needed items is important as well. Having to rummage through bags and boxes to find stuff is a huge problem. Also items have to be accessible, digging into a stack of boxes stuffed into a shed to get to a small truck you know is buried in the back is annoying and time consuming.

Here is some of what I do to head of problems.

Must remember your last line: "It's not hoarding if the boxes are labeled."

Thanks Sol.
Thanks 79th.

I think that's my motto, Grelber.

I have been to several hoarder houses, I am not even close.

The plastic containers off-gas which can cause paint to change color over time. Especially if the plastic is exposed to UV light.
