Later than usual (I blame a very early pre-work trip to the airport dropping #2 son off), the latest post looks at the excellent new volume about the Flags of the Scots Army at Preston and Dunbar. The Fitzpayne images reproduced in full of I'm not mistaken. Essential reading if you are interested in the Third Civil War or the Covenanters in general.

is a big fan of the Age of Sail, and these ships really speak to him - he loves transitional eras, and the Anglo-Dutch Wars was one of those.
