…Gudkov is one of at least 10 Russian major generals or lieutenant generals to have been killed in the war so far. Some of the attacks appear carefully planned by Ukraine, though on the evidence so far the hit on Gudkov looks opportunistic…

Que "Another one Bites the Dust" or "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" … 🎶🎵

I also read in the media today the POTUS has spoken to Putin for an hour or two. Nothing changed … Putin wants to continue the war. Regardless of his high losses. The POTUS may have to up the sanctions, etc.

Also, both Ukraine and the IDF need more ADA/AAA. But there may be a production problem as not enough are being made and as fast as those nations need plus the US needs many in their inventory.

Both Iran and Putin just seem to want to continue the killing and/or being killed.

And Putin cares…how much?

The POTUS may have to up the sanctions, etc.

The problem with "upping the sanctions" is that the sanctions always start out too minimal to actually do anything. The target copes.
Then, they are increased incrementally, but never enough to make any incremental difference.
We've seen that movie before. It's the standard song and dance of all State Departments, Foreign Secretaries, Speakers to Barbarians, etc.
Let's not call it the "Deep State". That's too sinister, and it makes them sound … sinister. They actually believe that they're being useful. Empirically speaking, they're not.

So, "up the sanctions". 🤷 Just don't pretend they're actually doing anything.

Cutting arms shipments to the Ukraine *may* not be the way to proceed either.

Give Ukraine a submarine, and let them sink the shadow fleet of tankers? wink

They should make you president, Bill.
