Having just finished a project, I have a Sherman tank and a clutch of British Paras for riding in vehicles left over. I wondered if I could combine them in a small diorama as a counterpoint to my Fallschirmjäger on a Königstiger. I know that 6th Airborne worked with 5th Guards Armoured in 1945 and I have a picture of Canadian paras on a Churchill. Did the Guards have Shermans then? Has anyone seen a picture of such a scenario as I want to model?

I've seen photos of Shermans in the 5th Guards Armoured in 1945 (Coldstream Guards) as well as Cromwells (in the latter case, Royal Inskilling Dragoon Guards supporting 9th Durham Light Infantry)

Excellent. Thanks very much. With the general fogginess of historical details, that's the justification I need.

If you really want a diorama using the Paras, at one stage they were using a steam engine on the advance

Now that's interesting. Any reference info?
