"President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social Saturday that the United States has completed what he described as a "very successful attack" on three nuclear sites in Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. "All planes are now outside of Iran air space," Trump wrote in the post. "A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this." He concluded his statement with a call for de-escalation: "NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter." Trump's post comes amid rapidly escalating tensions in the Middle East, with Israeli and U.S. military operations intensifying against Iranian targets." |

YEAH !!!!! GET SOME !!!!!! The B-2s and GBU-57s cometh … Sun Tzu – The Art of War [paraphrase] "All war is a matter of deception." … I think I have said that before … It wasn't my idea but that is the way were trained. Many of in DC, in the media, some here, etc. just could not understand why the POTUS would change what he had said before. Changed his mind, etc. Not telling them much of anything E.g. "I'll make a decision in under two weeks. Sun Tzu would be proud. This OPLAN has probably been worked out a week or two ago. This is a game changer. There is still work to do. But the Iranians that hate their islamist leaders, IRGC, etc. The IDF and the US opened a up a big hole.
Finish it … Hell just can to Breakfast Ayatollah, IRGC, etc. … Much of the rest of the world can be very glad. The IDF and USA have removed the #1 islamic terrorist threat on the planet. Also just heard the Dems are not happy. They want to impeach the POTUS for not getting authorization from Congress … Unbelievable! Just heard at least 3 B-2s with 6 GBU-57s took out the big nuke site. And 30 USN sub launched TLAMs took out the two other of Iran's nuke sites … History just changed today …
Putin, Xi, Un, ISIS, etc. take note …

So much for Trump bragging that he never got involved in a war. 😄 This is the first day, and he's claiming that it's One and Done. We'll see. I don't know if it's good or bad, but it's not going to be very simple. But the whole concept of the massive Bunker Buster is Way Cool.

John … "Say something righteous and hopeful !" Huh? As I said, there is more work to be done. But Iran's nuclear threat has been nullified. If not removed totally … Still waiting on more BDA. Initial reports are good. And John it's not a war … it was a punitive strike to get rid of a nuclear threat. To defend us and the Israels, as well as many others in the region. John do you want Iran's fanatical theocracy to have nukes ? The US gave them many chances to talk and settle this. But we know how islamists work. They only respect and fear raw power. This is a win … and a long time coming … The IDF will do the rest. |

They used 6 bunker busters on one site. The other 2 sites were hit by Navy Tomahawks. We will not know right away how significant this will be damage wise. We may have to hit it again, who knows. Hope not. There will be some sort of retaliation. But they have been killing us since they overthrew the Shah. Either by them directly, or surrogates. My belief, the only real danger will come from agents let into the country, via the open borders of the last administration. Of course there are Democrats already calling for impeachment. 😱🙄 |

We have been at war with Iran since the Shaw fell. It's just the Iran was the only one fighting most of the time. Just like most of our presidents in the last 25 years this is another punitive strike against an enemy. It is only the beginning of a war if Iran wants more of the same. Mike |
Legion 4 | 21 Jun 2025 7:07 p.m. PST |
But AFAIK the POTUS has the authority to do this … Based on everything I heard and understand. It was punitive strikes to remove a threat and defend the US, our ally Israel and even many in the region. Comes down to let them have nukes or not … easy choice IMO … You can't talk to them; you can't trust them; all they understand is fear and respect power and strength. Iran now has no leverage … Buck +1 … |

It's a win … Or do you have so much hatred for the POTUS ? That you can't see the reality of the situation.
We are talking Nukes … not muskets … get it … ? The way Iran was reacting there was no choice. Or let them eventually get nukes. And start using them. Are you going to doubt that they wouldn't use their nukes ?

Jennifer Griffin at Fox is reporting that operational security was excellent on this one, in her experience over the years. Also: Apparently the B-2s that went to Guam, which got everyone's attention, were not the ones that struck Iran. If so, nice misdirection by the Air Force. Also reported that the bunker busters were used in pairs at 30-second intervals, so the second one would go into the hole created by the first one. There was speculation that Iran could have engineered their underground with hardened concrete in a way that would deflect penetrating bombs. Will be interesting to see the damage assessment. |

Cuprum2 | 21 Jun 2025 9:29 p.m. PST |
Prince Alberts Revenge, the cooperation agreement between Russia and Iran excludes a military alliance. This is an agreement on mutual supplies, which is logical for countries under sanctions. In addition, Russia itself is clearly not interested in the emergence of a new nuclear country near its borders. The most that Russia will do is sell Iran conventional weapons. Nothing personal – just a mirror response for your weapons supplies to the Zelensky dictatorship))) |

I'm waiting on the detailed consensus BDA and exactly how Iran chooses to respond. I've a son and daughter-in-law in the Army and they have kids that are three and one. My son is set to deploy someplace sandy in late November. If this works, great! I do not believe Iran should ever get a nuke but the problem with shooting things is that any claim to truly know how that all this works out is delusional. It didn't work out all that well when I spent 366 days in Southeast Asia and it didn't work out all that well when my older boy spent 9 months in Afghanistan. This strike ultimately may be a decisive action but it is way too early for a claim of victory. |
Editor in Chief Bill | 21 Jun 2025 9:54 p.m. PST |
The big question to me is: can or will Iran strike back at the USA, including its overseas bases, or a terror attack on the US homeland? If that happens, then the US would be forced to respond in some manner, in which case the 'one and done' strike might have a sequel… If Iran collapses, someone might have to go in and make sure sensitive items don't fall into the wrong hands. (If any of those still exist.) Some speculation that India might be asked to send troops in to police Iran in that case. |
Bunkermeister | 21 Jun 2025 10:21 p.m. PST |
India would be an excellent choice. Their navy has been active in the area. They have had to deal with radicals from time to time in their country so they will have few illusions about what being in Iran would mean. They also seem to want a larger role in the world and they like Trump, so maybe they would work well with the US helping coordination or supply. Mike |
Cuprum2 | 21 Jun 2025 10:23 p.m. PST |
An attack on Iran's nuclear facilities will not affect its desire to retaliate, since Iran has never used nuclear weapons before. It has already attacked Israel again, launching missiles that have already exploded at Israeli facilities. So the show goes on for Israel. The question is whether Iran will want to respond to the US attack or not. However, there are many people in the world who want to drag the US into a war, and they can do this by simply striking US bases under the flag of Iran or its proxy (for example, the same ISIS – it's nice to drag your enemies into a war between themselves). Trump is now risking a lot… His tongue is his enemy. Bunkermeister, India has no conflict with Iran. They are unlikely to be interested in anything more than containing Pakistan and China. |
Editor in Chief Bill | 21 Jun 2025 10:28 p.m. PST |
The country with the most to lose in Iran is probably China, as they get cheap oil from there. If the oil refineries are taken out, that will hurt China. If there is a revolution in Iran, depending on who ends up in power, sanctions could be lifted, which would also end cheap oil for China. Russia also had something to lose. Apparently, though they now build their own Shahid drones, many of the parts will come from Iran… but those factories may not exist any more. |
Cuprum2 | 21 Jun 2025 10:59 p.m. PST |
The attack on the oil refineries will not affect oil supplies. China receives crude oil. And if there are no Iranian supplies, Russia will increase such supplies. A coup in Iran is unlikely. If there were preconditions for this, it would have happened already. As far as I can judge, even the opposition and immigrants supported Iran in its opposition to Israeli aggression. The Shah is hated in Iran more than the Ayatollah. Iranians have already united to resist external aggression. Although in the event of a protracted war of attrition, something may change. Without a ground operation, it is impossible to guarantee the fall of the Ayatollah regime. Where and in which country has it become better since the West overthrew the regime? I do not remember such precedents. All that awaits Iran after the overthrow of the regime is poverty, hunger and civil war for decades. Russia has been producing drones for a very long time without Iran's participation. Russia simply acquired the technology and pilot batches of finished products. Now this is a much more advanced weapon than the technology that was acquired earlier. This is a whole series of machines, including jets, which attack in swarms, under the control of artificial intelligence, they themselves make decisions to attack air defense… By the way, a few days ago, another new plant for the production of such drones was launched in Russia. Russia has not been dependent on Iranian supplies for a very long time. And the effectiveness of Iranian drones in the war with Israel is low, and in Ukraine they cause a lot of problems, despite the air defense supplied by the West. Rather, Israel may soon encounter Russian products "Geran", sold to Iran. Or Russian developments in this technology will be transferred to it. link For Russia, this war is more useful than harmful. |

"Also reported that the bunker busters were used in pairs at 30-second intervals, so the second one would go into the hole created by the first one." I guess this means the US intelligence community has finally come to a conclusion. It was only a few weeks ago that Gabbard was telling the world that there was no Iranian nuclear weapons programme (and hadn't been since 2003), then that her words were "misconstrued" and now presumably "just a few weeks away from building their first bomb". |
Cuprum2 | 22 Jun 2025 3:51 a.m. PST |
The conclusion is simple – the Iranian regime is a nuisance to many in the region and the world for various reasons. It was clear almost immediately that the operation was aimed at regime change, and the presence of nuclear weapons, which had been "on the verge of being ready" for fifteen years, was merely a pretext for this. Why would Israel launch an attack knowing in advance that it does not have weapons capable of hitting the Iranian targets it has announced? Only knowing that Iran will retaliate and the US will have a public pretext to attack Iran. So, option A: an uprising in Iran after an Israeli strike. Option B: a direct US attack in response to Iran's defensive reaction. If the Iranian regime survives, then nuclear weapons will now be created beyond any doubt, since only they are capable of preventing attacks by Israel and the United States. Any access to Iranian facilities for international organizations will be closed, since cooperation with them brings Iran more harm than good. Iran will no longer be interested in any negotiations, since they are only a screen concealing preparations for war. Well, throughout the region this war will stimulate hidden work on nuclear weapons. |

This war has been going on for a couple of years now and started with the Hamas attack on 10/7. We got into it big time when the Houthis started flinging bottle rockets into the shipping lanes approaching the Suez Canal. If I recall, that started under Biden.
@Cuprum "If the Iranian regime survives, then nuclear weapons will now be created beyond any doubt" In English we have an old saying- "In for a penny, in for a pound." It applies here. This war started when the Iranians took US hostages from the embassy under Carter. It has continued either directly or via secondaries every since. I don't believe any of us who support this, believe this could be over. We hope, but it would naïve to believe otherwise. To quote my previous comment last night in this thread: "We will not know right away how significant this will be damage wise. We may have to hit it again, who knows. Hope not. There will be some sort of retaliation. But they have been killing us since they overthrew the Shah. Either by them directly, or surrogates. My belief, the only real danger will come from agents let into the country, via the open borders of the last administration." We can expect surrogate attacks, but that's been going on for quite a while already. No matter, it was a well handled mission, after giving Iran 60 days plus to come to a peaceful conclusion. Also the U.S. stood by an Ally. Unlike what some have been claiming is the case with the President. |

A war can be considered won only if the result obtained was better than the pre-war result for a particular state. The Second World War (like the First World War), if we evaluate their causes and results, are wars for the redistribution of influence in the world. For example, according to this parameter, after the Second World War, many countries from the anti-Hitler coalition, in fact, lost. Great Britain, for example, lost its empire… Is this a victory? The official goals of the United States in Iraq: 1. Destruction of weapons of mass destruction. 2. Weakening international terrorism. The first goal… Fiction. The second goal – the situation has deteriorated sharply. Is this a victory? The army won. The state – no. |

That is an attempt at hyperbole or sarcasm … right ? 🤔 Everyone knows or should that the fanatical islamic regime is a death cult. They certainly will not submit to the Great or Little Satan … I wonder if the Ayatollah, his mullahs, IRGC Cdrs, etc. will go down fighting like some so many other good jihadis did ? Or like Assad take the nearest flight out to Russian or one of their other allies ? They don't want to get captured and end up hanging in the streets like Mussolini. If many in Iran's population got a hold of them … and they know it … Make a note the US has two CVN Grps, a number of DDGs, subs, forward deployed USAF assets, etc. in the region. There to mitigate any threat Iran's islamists or proxies pose. Have not seen their proxies do much of anything. Maybe they saw what happened last night when the US made surgical strikes on Iran nuke sites. They must know anyone of them could be next. And no GBU-57s needed …

But I know Dave you think the Yanks are bumpkins … I get it … As we see OPSEC was very tight. This POTUS and Admin knows if the media even had a whiff of this mission. It would be all over. Regardless of the risks to US assets already they would have added to them. Freedom of the Press even if it means it could get some of the troops killed. Hey … maybe they could get a Pulitzer ? The same goes for letting the Congress know after it was over. As we see many in Congress want to impeach the POTUS now again. They were not allowed to say it would Not be OK to do surgical strikes on a fanatical islamic theocracy that has been obsessed with getting nukes. And use them on Israel and the USA. This has been one of their jihadi goals for many decades. Does anyone trust these islamists ? You shouldn't … We all have a good idea how nukes work. But like the media there are those in Congress who will do anything to stop the POTUS and his admin from doing anything. Anything that he was elected to do. 1) Closing the border and start mass deportations of illegal aliens. 2) Not letting islamic fanatics kill Americans and our allies, e.g. Israel. |
