An update on my Stargate project, the villainous Goa'uld.

Superb! Great use of figures. What do you have for Jaffa? How are you handling the guards/leaders in their huge animal-head helmets?

Parzival,

I have 20 of the long OOP Eureka Jaffa that I was lucky enough to find on ebay for a reasonable price. Most are in the animal-head helmets, 4 are bare-headed and I use them for unit leaders. I have recently gotten some 3d-printed ones as well.

Those are really nicely painted, often in colors I'm not brave enough to use! I particularly liked Cleopatra's headgear. I have some of the Dragon Bait (originally Dark Fable) figures already, but I may need to add the Cleopatra figure!

Wargods makes some nice figures, but as you noted, they are expensive. I still check them out from time to time in case they have brought out something new that I desperately need to have. Like you, I use them as individuals, not as units.

What rules are you using? I've been doing Egyptian-ish skirmish games, but a Stargate type scenario might be interesting.

The jawline of the arrogant first figure looks like something from a Nazi propaganda poster. I'd go for a Teutonic name.

Looking great. You have reinvigorated my own SG project.

Thanks for the kind words.

LostPict, I'd like to see what you do with your project.

Grelber, I use the 7TV rules from Crooked Dice. They work well for adapting tv shows or movies to games. I ran a Miami Vice game 2 years ago that I may redo someday, though my next plan is to bring back my oil rig board with a new scenario.

My home grown Stargate rules are free online at link (about half way down the page!) if you want a quick shoot 'em up?

Very cool project!

I have been collecting figures for a while too. My project has been stalled at the finding a suitable ruleset phase.

Thanks for sharing!

Crocodile games figures are nice.

Still baffled why they haven't done some (some) plastic figures.

Perhaps just a basic human with skirt and legs all in one. Perhaps a head or two, shield and weapon arm/s. Maybe with 4 different poses, each with a different head and hand weapon, shield.

Then just add metal arm/head/shield where appropriate for packs.

Even just for starter box, and a unit box/s.

Would make collecting much more affordable and still allow for plenty of all metal and metal versions.
