Awhile back I was gathering figures for a WWI project (Palestine in 20mm / 1/72nd)) and I bought some Turks made by either IT or Tumbling Dice that the seller described as "Arab on top". I guessed and hoped they were Arab troops wearing traditional head gear and Central Powers uniforms, but no. They are wearing Arabic headwear and Central Powers uniforms, but also a long, open robe. My best guess is that they are "undercover" Turks helping the Senussi. Any ideas as to what these guys are supposed to represent?

Probably something from "Lawrence of Arabia"?

If they are armed with .303s then perhaps regulars of the Sharifian army?

Never mind, they are definitely Sanussis:

Thank you, Colonel. Now to decide if they're bound for the melting pot or the painting bench.

They would make good Basmachi for the Russian Civil War.
