Greetings Fellow Gamers,
A shout out to all our gaming veterans, and a Happy 250th Birthday to those of us lucky, enough to have been in the Army.
Early this month we held our Volunteer-Thank You Party. If I sound like a broken record or skipping CD, that is ok. Because we cannot thank you all, enough for your time and effort in helping making our gaming society and conventions the successes they are.
Upcoming events include the Origins Game Fair, We have a great slate of GMs running close to 30 games at the con. Plus the good folks at HMGS-Great Lakes will also be putting on a larger number of exciting events. No one can say Origins does not do historical gaming. We also have our own Naval Wars and Wars in Woodstock, coming fast on July 12th. We had to combine them this year because of the venue's scheduling conflicts.
Future endeavors include a partnership with "The Chicagoland's Veteran Campus". A combined collection of military history museums about to make it's debut. We are looking to working them on future game days and other events. Also we are going to do a first-time ever Military History Book Fair, later in July. This will be a great chance to pick up those hard to find items at a reasonable price.
Finally, in this issue is the current update on the upcoming Board elections. All the current members are the nominees for their future terms. So if you approve of what we are doing show us your support next month. Remember only HMGS-Midwest members can vote. If you bought a Badge for Little Wars (not a shoppers badge however) you also purchased a membership. If you missed Little Wars you can still get a membership via the Chedder up link, later in the newsletter. This will still entitle you to all the other HMGS-Midwest events throughout the year. Lastly all of our regular features have returned.
