Well, it's the Glorious First of June and time for an update on OttoCon 2025, being held on the 27th & 28th of June at the Comfort Suites, 10 Hanover St, Carlisle, PA 17013…
Our theme is Naval Gaming.
But nobody ever pays attention to the theme. Unless they want to.
We have a number of games organized for both days. And both days are broken into two main gaming sessions and one open evening session. You can sign up for the games at the front door (we copied this from BARRAGE…shhh, don't tell them!)
Friday the 27th starting at 10AM:
* 15mm WW2 Armor action with What A Tanker by Harrison Deppner
* All Quiet on the Martian Front 2.0 by Phil Gardocki
* 28mm English Civil War battle using Pike and Shotte by Phil Jones with, as he puts it, "about 1,000" figures.
* The boardgame Midway run as a double-blind game by Tracy Johnson.
The afternoon session sees
* Rich Massie running a Western Gunfight game using Gunfight Royale
* Eric Ackerman running a 60mm War of The Roses game using Dollar Store Superhero figures converted into WoTR and An Uneasy Crown for the rules.
* For the boardgame lovers, we have Divine Right, an OttoCon staple, run by Tracy Johnson.
Saturday the 28th of June starts a bit earlier at 9AM:
* Walt Leach brings an ALDG tourney for both sessions to let folks get tuned up for Historicon.
* George Deppner brings us Roarke's Drift in glorious 28mm using (modified) The Sword and The Flame. This will probably run into both sessions.
* Keith Wyttenbach brings us the Battle of Navarino Bay using Form On The Admiral's Wake.
* Bill Stahl is going to take us to the Back of Beyond in 28mm with the rules of the same name.
The Saturday afternoon session has:
* Steve Thorne running a massive Battle of Mobile Bay game using Sail and Steam Navies.
* Boardgame maestro Tracy Johnson will run a game of Junta, because he is a river to his people.
We have Military Science Theatre 2000 each evening, depending on the will of the attendees and the amount of caffeine and/or alcohol in their bloodstreams.
We also have a silent auction and the Daisy version of The Bring and Buy.
But no vendors. It's not that we don't like vendors, we do!
We have no vendors, so folks who are vendors at other shows might be able to just play a game, instead of minding the stall.
Registration is $30 USD at the door for the whole weekend, or $20 USD for a single day.
There are still rooms available for the convention block. Contact Tracy Johnson for the details at saxenviolets@gmail.com or for more information about the show.
And no, we still do not have a website, a Facebook page, a YouTube Channel or all that other Cool Kid stuff.
Maybe one day. But today is not that day. Pretty certain it's not tomorrow, either.
Hope to see you in Carlisle!
Eric
