In a surprising turn of events the Royal Navy has been involved in an incident off the coast of Libya. Find out more on this significant escalation from our reporters on the ground. Our full report can be found here: link

Nice AAR. How do you like the rules? Thanks for sharing! |

Excellent battle report and interesting (and plausible) scenario. You did a very nice job with the water effects on the bases and the painting of the ships. I also like the clean looking labels. I'd love to know your technique. I have 1/2400 post-WW2 naval ships, mostly fast attack craft, missile boats and some corvettes/destroyers/frigates. My rules of choice are Bulldogs Away. Anyway, thanks again for posting…it's always nice to see this genre and gain inspiration from others. |

Intriguing game and sounds like fun was had. A bit of a school boy error perhaps by the Task Unit commander putting the Type 21 up threat, but it's all a learning experience. I'm not familiar with the rules; how do they handle softkill? I'd have thought ARROW would have had a much better chance vs STYX using chaff & manoeuvre rather than Sea Cat. |

Thank you all for your feedback. It is pleasing to know people enjoyed the report. Some answers to specific questions… The Rules: It is early days but we found them to present some very interesting game choices and what felt like plausible outcomes. We do have much more to read and understand. The Basing: I have tried to briefly cover the painting and basing in a couple of earlier posts. Basically they sea is made using a caulking compound applied very sparingly. Various colours are added when dry. I find applying a diluted wash on the model before adding highlights is useful on these small ships. The Loss of Arrow: Much of the ability of a vessel to avoid missiles is based on the ship characteristics, with countermeasures no doubt built in. I suspect later model ships will have greater abilities. That said I haven't compared many ship stats yet. Again, thanks for all the positive feedback and thoughtful posts. |

TWR: out of curiosity, could you explain how you made and applied the labels on the ships? I think I need to do that with my vessels as well. At 1/24, it's easy to forget exactly what they are. |

Sorry for the delay replying. The labels are just laser printed paper black background with white text glued on to an area of the base that hasnt had an area of caulking applied. When dry I tidy up the paper edge with blue or black paint. This is an important step as it hides any white paper edge exposed when cutting it out. |
