Today, May 31, is Clint Eastwood's 95th birthday. From the TV series Rawhide through today, he is one of the better actors and producers of our time.

On that note, what are some of your favorite Clint Eastwood movies as an actor?

I'll lead off with A Fistfull of Dollars, Kelly's Heroes, Unforgiven, and Play Misty for Me, but there are so many to choose from.

On the flip side, every actor has a film they would like to like back or do over. My choice for Eastwood would be Paint your Wagon, It might also be Lee Marvin's do over as well.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly – imho the best of the Dollars trilogy

Pale Rider

Where Eagles dare

And I'm torn between 'In the Line of Fire' and 'Gran Torino'.

He's being going so long and done so many that maybe Youngly, Middley, Latey, and Elderly are better categories to think about.

Overall Gran Torino but I quite like Stoppage's list

Probably like Gran Torino because I used to work with a bunch of jolly Polish Americans from Hamtramck

Well, here are two of my favorites that haven't been mentioned

Every Which Way but Loose (everybody seems to be having too much fun as it was made)

Cry Macho It and The Mule are sort of his swan song.

Such a great actor and director. I'm not sure I can narrow this down.

Kelly's Heroes is a very close second.

John, you forgot Honky Tonk Man

mildbill03 Jun 2025 5:54 a.m. PST

I just did not like Pale Rider. Unforgiven, josey wales and Ride with the Devil sums up the Missouri mindset. Many good movies and I cant pick although I once knew the dialog of Kellys Heroes by heart.

Herkybird, and A Fistful of Dollars makes a great double-feature with Yojimbo!
