I have finished two battalions of Dutch Blue Guards using 15mm Irregular miniatures. They are my first League of Augsburg units but I might also use them for very early War of the Spanish Succession. Here's a photo of one of the battalions. I designed the flags in Photoshop and had them printed at the local Staples.

I have three battalions of Dutch line infantry for WSS completed but I am awaiting magnetic base bottoms from Litko.

Looking good! One of those flag bearers has a well-fed look to him. Maybe its just the large "cummerbund."

He's been snacking on lots of Dutch goodies including gouda cheese and almond flavored pastry. An ensign of the Dutch Guards can afford to eat very well.

Very nice! My WSS Dutch Guards are far less interesting.

Love how you did the flags – Thanks for sharing

I think you did a fine job.

Thank you all for the compliments. Shagnasty, I'm debating if I should do the later version of Dutch Guards with the red cuffs and updated flags. I would probably use 15mm Minifigs and Roundway, figures that have proper tricornes. That brings up a concern of mine. Roundway. It seems that no one is producing them and I really like their 15mm WSS.

Gallocelt – I'm afraid you are going to be disappointed. Roundway (and Naismith) went to a new home. The new owner had significant health issues, and I believe has passed away. What has become of the moulds? No idea. There are a handful of online stores with some stock, but I think you might be exceedingly lucky if you find enough figures for a unit.

So here is a photo of a few of my 15mm Dutch line infantry that were manufactures by Roundway. This marching pose is one of my favorite that Roundway made in their WSS range. Roundway also makes some command figures that I would not want to do without. On the left are three Irregular miniatures that have been based. The drummer in the center has been modified. I removed the drummer's head and replaced it with a Minifigs head.

Cheers!

Hello KeepYourPowderDry,

That is sad news to be sure. I can't complain too much. I bought quite a few Roundway figures from several ranges back in the day and I still have them (most of them remain unpainted). It would be great if the range became available again but I won't hold my breath.

Cheers!
