I had an order that was shipped in 5/28. The message on USPS tracking is one I have never seen before. It says something like the package is at the post office and details should post with an hour. I contacted the seller and the tracking number is good.

If the shipper generated the label himself, It has to be scanned at the PO to be accepted.

I've seen that is the past. The message says something like Label printed awaiting submission to post office.

In this case the message implies the post office has the package and is awaiting an update.

Yes, something similar has happened to me. I've also seen some rather weird routing from one side of the US to another before the package gets to me here in Mississippi. Then I've gotten a notification about a package starting its trip then nothing until I get a notice that it will delivered that day, several days (or more) later.

Below is the exact message I'm see on USPS tracking:

"Information Available Soon
USPS doesn't yet have a status update on this item shipped from the Post Office. Information is usually updated within the hour of your visit. Please check back soon."

The "updated within the hour" has been up since yesterday morning.

Just had a package with that. I did get the package a few days later.

Yes – I have a small package from Empress Miniatures that shows it's been sitting in Customs in LA since May 25th… Hoping it's just laziness in scanning and/or the holiday weekend hoping for the later as I also have backage coming from Wisconsin that has also been hanging out since the 25th.

For me I quite often see delays from overseas deliveries no matter which country they come from or port of entry which for me is Los Angeles or New York (I live in Colorado).

I'm just happy if/when they show up…….

I've seen that notice. It's USPS for "someone brought it to us, but we haven't done anything with it." I'd wait until after lunch on Monday at least before worrying. Usually USPS tracking is excellent, I'm sometimes able to track goods from the shipper to within blocks of my house and then back to the shipper again.

The delivery not always so much. But the tracking is world class.

I had the weirdest USPS incident a few years ago in sending a package to New Zealand. I live just a mile outside Chicago. It was stuck at the Elk Grove facility for 3 days, next update 4 days later it was in New York. A few more days in was on the West Coast. It arrived in New Zealand 5 days later but didn't hit the correct post office for 3 more days. I was worried because it was over $200 USD worth of 1/6th scale figures, and I did have insurance on it also. I kept waiting to see if I needed to report it missing.

All of the shipping companies have problems every once and awhile.
My latest was a package shipped March 5, 2025 and reported arriving by the shipper on April 10, 2025. However the package did not actually arrive until May 21,2025.
I have had problems with all of them over my years in business in 1983.
My worst experience was with UPS in 1986. I mailed 12 packages to a show in San Francisco. 7 arrived to the site though one was after the show. Three went to distributors across the country. Two were returned to me. So that was the last time I flew to a show and shipped product to it.

I talked with a USPS clerk once. She told me there are 2 tracking sites, one for customers, one for staff. She told me to ask her & she could look on the "internal" tracking & find it immediately.

A year ago, I ordered some figures from the USA and USPS kept telling me it was in Chicago! It must have been delivered by an F-15 as it arrived in the UK next day!!!

Package arrived yesterday, USPS still has the update shortly message. I let the seller know it has arrived and all is good.
