I have to wear glasses when I am painting! LOL!
But seriously, I paint the frames and paint the lenses in a very light flesh colour. Gloss varnish the lenses.

I paint the lens in a silver metal color unless they are sunglasses then I use a dark green black.

I don't think I have ever painted glasses, but then I play and paint mostly Ancients !!

Metallic silver.

I have to take my glasses off to paint — way too near sighted to leave them on.

Metallic silver paint on the mini's lenses.

White or light blue.

I normally use hobby paint and a fine brush.

I paint lenses light blue and then put two diagonal white lines, much as I do windows on vehicles.

Mostly touch of silver

For sunglasses light to mid blue

I take my glasses off and put my optivisor on.

Oh! I see what you did with the topic title.

First, I ignore the glasses on the figure and paint the face and hair. Then I carefully paint the lenses in an appropriate glossy color, like silver or green. Then I basically dry-brush the frame in whatever color is appropriate, such as silver for wire frames.

Glass in glasses are easy to paint. The lens are not.

Very carefully! Well at least I used to.

Strictly two foot rule in effect now a days.

For the lenses I paint them the same skin tones as the face, add a line and a dot and then a drop off clear gloss. Looks just like looking at a real set of glasses.

Paint the eyes as normal; when dry a light coat of Liquitex Iridescent White. This gives an appearance of transparency. Assuming that the glasses are modeled with "solid" lenses. If only the frames are modeled, then use a drop of epoxy or Future after painting and matte varnishing.
