Anyone who would like PDFs of my variant The Sword & the Flame rules for the Jacobite rebellion (1745 but expandable to other eras), "The Sword in the Heather," can contact me via PM; I'll email the documents to you at an email address you supply. There is no charge (I have no legal right to make money off these; I just want them circulating to any wargamer who might want to try them). You *will* need the base TS&TF rules to use this variant. The documents comprise the exclusive variant rules additions/modifications plus unit/army organization and two pages of the revised charts and tables necessary. These rules have been thoroughly playtested over the years and written by a published, former staff game designer. Cheers! |

I tried to do something similar a few years ago. I did Moore's Creek Bridge. That's an AWI Very Early War battle featuring Jacobite Loyalists vs Patriot militia. Yes. The Jacobites were loyal to the Crown. It must have been because of their talent in finding places to settle where they would feel oppressed. Watch later seasons of Outlander, by the way. I forget how I rated everyone, but it was merely swapping identities with standard TSATF types. Piper has put more thought into it. |

My "Rally" chart got somehow split up when converting my Word document to a PDF and crossing two machines and Word versions, so I have now sent out revised copies to respondents. That's Word for ya. All sorted out now! |

John the Loyalty to the Governor , crown, can in part be traced to their lose and conditions of pardon during the Regulator War of 1775. Great small historical site at Alamance NC. |

piper909's variant gives a good game although my lads were never able to overcome those pesky Scots! It must have been the sound of the pipes that put their wind up. |

@TimePortal Yes, I agree. Note that I recommended watching Outlander. I've gamed Moore's Creek, and have plans to do Alamance. I simply thought that it was ironic that "Jacobites" would be loyal to a Hanoverian king. The answer to that, in this part of the woods around this time is of course "It's complicated." |

The Alamance battlefield is interesting. They use golf hole flags to mark the front lines. Amazing how close they were. |
