Rick Ashby and I met up at Hole in the Wall Hobbies in NE San Antonio Texas on Friday night to play another great game of Valour & Fortitude 15mm Napoleonic. Rick fielded his Prussians and I played my French. Rick and I are once again play testing the rules / armies / scenarios for the upcoming 7 June first ever V&F tournament to be held in Austin at Game Kastle.

We both marched towards the center of the board (and objectives) with the French columns reaching the center and right objectives first and the Prussians taking the one on my left. Both armies deployed in line and an ensuing firefight commenced.

The French dragoons on my right forced the Prussians into square and my battery focused on pounding them with cannon fire. In the center Rick launched his heavy cavalry at my defensive line and was initially successful but beaten off losing one regiment and the French one battalion.

The firefight went the Prussian way as his "disciplined fire" allowed him to cause casualties. The French Dragoons launched a successful attack on a square that had been pounded for 2 turns by artillery. However the combination of Prussian musketry, artillery and a coordinated assault led to the rout of the French left and center. The game ended with a 14 to 13 score in favor of the prussians. Another fun and good game!
