I painted a set of 15mm Austrian Uhlans charging in campaign dress in 1848-49 wars.
The figures are from Black Watch Miniatures.

Great painting for an unusual period. The period is largely overlooked but had superb uniforms that rival the First Empire.

Very vibrant painting and beautiful brushwork for an interesting and under-gamed conflict.

Hear, hear! My own armies are in 6mm

but 15mm is a better scale for enjoying the colourful uniforms.

Certainly an under-gamed conflict, given how long it lasted and how many big battles it featured. I did my best to fix that by writing a scenario book for it (some of you are already fully aware of it, I know):

And now there is Nigel Smith's book to help people to create and paint their armies for it, there's no excuse not to get into the '48!

Beautiful work. They look like 25s.
