I painted a set of 15mm Austrian Uhlans charging in campaign dress in 1848-49 wars. The figures are from Black Watch Miniatures.

Great painting for an unusual period. The period is largely overlooked but had superb uniforms that rival the First Empire. |

Very vibrant painting and beautiful brushwork for an interesting and under-gamed conflict. |

Hear, hear! My own armies are in 6mm link but 15mm is a better scale for enjoying the colourful uniforms. Certainly an under-gamed conflict, given how long it lasted and how many big battles it featured. I did my best to fix that by writing a scenario book for it (some of you are already fully aware of it, I know): link And now there is Nigel Smith's book to help people to create and paint their armies for it, there's no excuse not to get into the '48! link |
