I think the fact that "old" movies don't appeal much to modern audiences (stylistically) and GWTW has a certain amount of extraneous opprobrium attached to it is hurting it in these polls. Funny when you consider how it was widely considered one of the "Best Movies Ever Made" well into the 1980s and its screening on TV and then home video release was subject to much fanfare and critical bowing. Miss Scarlett demands a recount! |
