I wonder what rules people are enjoying. I have a few, mostly unplayed. Faustus Furius is the one I expect to like when I get a chance to put it on the table. But too many things to do first… |

Played gladiators with various rules for years…..and years. A couple of chariot games but man to man is by far the most common. |

I have Faustus Furious and really like them. Give a very fast pleasant game. I do it in 6mm. |

I confess I'd expected gladiatorial games to be the comfortable winner. But perhaps I'm not alone in having found gladiators boring when I've tried to game them. |

Indeed. I've found 1:1 gladiator gaming combat tedious. It's guessing where to strike and block, and then determining how to add in the relative skills of the combatants. I said "tedious" because it boils down to … tedium. Believe me, I've tried. I happily collected and painted quite a few, from all manufacturers. And I tried quite a few rules, which were not the least bit exciting. Chariots. There is excitement. |
