A 50-minute show report produced by me from the Newark (UK) show ground. YouTube link My usual format of featuring as many tables as possible and trying to capture the atmosphere of the event. This video was produced under difficult personal circumstances and I do include a brief tribute, at the end, to my late travelling companion of 14 years. I will add a list of the clubs featured later. Barry |

While at Partizan I also went next door to the Newark Air Museum. YouTube link If you are visiting Hammerhead, Partizan or Other Partizan, the Air Museum is just next door and well worth a visit. Barry |

That's a good report, Barry. I watched it last night. It looks a little more chaotic than I thought it would- a bit like CanCon does on Day 1. I had planned to be there this year, but events conspired against another overseas trip. Thanks for the tip about the air museum. |

It did seem very busy this year, and people seemed to stay longer than usual I thought. Normally by lunchtime it's already starting to thin out as those who went primarily for shopping go home. It would be interesting to see the footfall figures. |

So were the crowds were larger than usual, or just hung around for longer, Volleyfire? One reason I go to CanCon on Day 2 is because you can actually move around and see more things (very, very rarely games of the calibre shown in Barry's and Volleyfire's blogs, though). |

Or perhaps both Dal if you want to nit pick? |

Not nitpicking, mate, just curious. While there's a lot of hobby similarities between Oz and the UK, the shows seem to be done differently. Here the emphasis on competition games seems greater than in the UK, weekend-long shows are the norm, and three- or even four-day shows aren't unknown. It looks like most UK shows are single day affairs. Also, rarely do the demo/participation games I've seen meet the standards of the UK shows. My opinion is based on photos and UK reports, because I haven't managed to get to a UK show. I probably won't get the chance, now- I should have scheduled my 2019 trip differently. A correction to my prior post- I meant "shown in Barry's and Yarr68's blogs, though". |
