Does anyone know of a good source for color illustrations of uniforms for Philip V's army during the War of the Spanish Succession? I have the Grant book but are there any others? I'd especially like to find a picture of a Spanish drum. TIA. |

I'm passing this on from someone else. He suggests have a look at: link I know Kronosaf for 7YW on which it is excellent, and it looks pretty good for WSS. It has the virtue of being free. Hope this helps. |

Armies and Uniforms of Marlborough's Wars: Part Two by CS Grant has several color plates and uniform guides if I recall correctly. |

The only illustrations I have seen of a drum in Philip V's army showed a yellow body with red banding at top and bottom and white braiding and one for the 'Regimiento de Granada' which showed a red/blue triangular design to the body with blue banding top and bottom and (perhaps) leather braiding. |

Some illustrations to ponder . . .
I found them on the internet ages ago. I had them in my WSS Spanish file. Looks like the last one is a group of reenactors. Cheers!
