This weekend I spent a very pleasant Saturday at Exeter Legionary running a Far Distant Ships game recreating the Battle of Trafalgar in 1:700 scale.

With seventy-three ships on the table this was a good test of the rules in preparation for an anniversary game this October at the NWS show at the FAA Museum in Yeovilton.

Really impressive looking game, JJ!
Looking at the long, long Allied line of ships, I can see why frigates and other smaller ships were used to run messages up and down the line.

Hi Grelber,
Thank you. Yes indeed, in a time before more modern methods of ship to ship communication, commanders of fleets had challenges modern minds struggle to appreciate and it is a wonder that fleets of this period managed the level of cooperation they actually achieved.
