Now after the election is over, the truth about the Gaza port debacle comes out. "During the mission, 62 personnel were injured, the Defense Department Inspector General said in its report, far more than previously disclosed. Army Sgt. Quandarius Stanley was critically injured in May 2024 in an accident involving a forklift aboard a Navy ship; he died five months later at a Veterans Affairs hospital." "But bad weather and distribution challenges inside Gaza limited the effectiveness of what the U.S. military says was its biggest aid delivery effort ever in the Middle East. The pier was only operational for about 20 days and cost about $230 USD million." IMO all to try and appease a voting group. You can do the math. Multiple sources, from all sides. Notice not much difference if you actually read them, except the more liberal try to paint a better picture and does not mention the death. It was clearly a bad idea, as I think we all said at the time, echoing the experience with one of the Mulberrys in WW2. It did not make sense in any case with Hamas grabbing the goods. I expect that Biden listened to his advisors and approved it. His personal responsibility is limited by the standards of the buck never stopping anywhere anymore. Biden very often did this. |

I expect that Biden listened to his advisors and approved it. Maybe -- he could have mumbled something in the affirmative when asked to approve, between his Ice Cream Time and Naptime. |

Resupply is a critical component of any campaign. Regardless of any political slant (rightly or wrongly) that you try and apply to this, important lessons will have been learnt. |

Don't forget the numerous times that the pier, (designed to provide supplies and aid to the people of Gaza) actually came under fire and was damaged by HAMAS, who were intent on preventing aid reaching the people of Gaza. It was debacle from the start. |

If there is one thing that I feel has not gotten enough coverage in the ongoing conflict, it is how Hamas has used their own people as shields, stop aid and food from getting to their people and allowed the slaughter and devastation to continue. Shameful. |

Obviously, not a lot of thought went into it. |

"If there is one thing that I feel has not gotten enough coverage in the ongoing conflict, it is how Hamas has used their own people as shields, stop aid and food from getting to their people and allowed the slaughter and devastation to continue. Shameful." You do realize the Iranian Overlords only use the good people of Gaza for their own reasons and the Hamas goons do only Iranian's bidding. |

Yes, saw that on the News today … Like so many things from the Biden Admin … it did not go as it was intended to. Biden and his cabinet rarely listened to his Military or Intel advisors. E.g. the A'stan debacle, DEI, CRT + Trans in the military, Males on Female sports team, open borders, etc., etc., etc., etc. … We've talked about all this so many times before … |

What was withheld until now, was why I posted it. Specifically the number injured and one dead. That is new. 62 is a far cry from 3 or 4 told to us originally. |

No argument here. Biden was out of it, and relied on his "advisors". 🙄 |

A refurbished LST would have been a better and cheaper (and likely safer) option. But then we must remember it would have reduced the graft and kickbacks, and TPTB can't have that… ;-) |
