"Vikings" were Scandinavians (Danes, Norwegians, or Swedes).

The Long Ships. Both the movie and the book. The book is excellent and full of possible gaming idea. Movie is just a fun escapism film.

13th Warrior, History Channel Vikings, and the Last Kingdom series. Lots of fun.

Another vote for "The Vikings."

Saw it when it first came out, and had years of wonderful after effects.

Cried like a baby at Einar's funeral, first came to appreciate how sexy a woman's back could be (Yo, Janet Leigh!), and still think the coolest name in the world is "Ragnar."

Incredible stunt work performed by the principle actors themselves, breathtaking location shooting, and fabulous action scenes in authentic locations.

How could you go wrong!?

I like all the above Viking Films & Series that were listed but the one I enjoy watching time after time is … The Last Kingdom!
An excellent 5 season series.

I haven't seen that I didn't like. And I've seen quite a few.

Hard to rank them, though, I enjoy them so much.

I'll throw the "The 13th Warrior" out there.

I agree that the first season or two of "The Vikings" was worth watching.

Greylegion07 May 2025 7:43 p.m. PST

I enjoyed Vikings: Valhalla series.

Fairly entertaining.

The Last Kingdom TV series (but not the lousy Netflix film) and the episodes of "Vikings" with Travis Fimmel in them as Ragnar Lothbrooke.

As a kid, I was stunned by The Longships.

Honorable mention to Brian Blessed as King Voltan in Flash Gordon. No, he's not remotely a Norseman, but could you get anymore fantasy Viking? "Now, my Hawkmen— DIVE!!!" laugh

Col Durnford Supporting Member of TMP08 May 2025 2:10 p.m. PST

I'm kinda surprised no one has mentioned "Norsemen". If you haven't seen it, look it up. Most likely the best Viking comedy show ever.

mjkerner14 May 2025 3:21 p.m. PST

No one mentioned Erik the Viking yet?
