As the title indicates I'm seeking a reliable source that would specify what color Union Jack and pennant would have been flown by the HMS Lively during the bombardment of Charlestown and Breeds Hill.

Contemporary etchings show these colorized as both Red AND Blue (take your pick!)
Any knowledgeable insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

The Union Jack is always red, white, and blue, much as today.
The ship's ensign would be red, blue or white depending on its
admiral.

I guess that's what I'm asking… what color ensign I did Admiral Graves fly?

Best guess is 'red'.

Graves had just been promoted from Vice Admiral of the Blue to Vice Admiral of the White on 31 March 1775. Whether news of his promotion had reached his squadron by Bunker Hill is another question, but I suspect one could be justified depicting his ships with either blue or white ensigns, or even a mix…

Best guess is 'red'.

I chose 'red' since the preceding North American Station Admiral flew a red ensign.
