Hi folks: Does anybody have details on the number and type of each of the following used by the Jagdpanzer Abteilung of 12th SS at Lausdell, Rocherath, Krinkelt, Butgenbach of -Jagdpanzer IV L/48 gun -Jagdpanzer IV L/70 gun -Jagdpanther 88 mm gun Did that Abteilung use any Sturmgescheutze?? thx, Dan |

AFAIK they had a company of Jagdpanthers and the rest were Panzer IV/70s. The 75L48 Jagdpanzer IV was a stopgap and they had largely disappeared by October 1944. I did have a detailed OB somewhere, but naturally I can't find it right now. |

Thanks, Martin. Yes, in Zaloga's book, Smashing Hitler's Panzers, he refers to the JgPz IV with L/70 and of course the famous newsreel footage shows a JgpzIv with the L/70 as part of 1st SS Panzer. Somewhere else I saw a reference to JgPz IV with the L/48….so that's why I figured I would pose the question. |

Detailed OB I fo on Jagdpanthers batttalions link Heavy Jagdpanzer battalion 560 was attached to 12SS for the Ardennes offensive. As the link notes it's "Stug" companies were equipped with Jagdpanzer IV/70s. |
