In the third and final post in a series looking at some of the history to be seen in Lisbon, Portugal, I have put together a look at the interesting collection of vehicles and weapons held as part of the Museu do Combatente within the 18th century fort of Bom Sucesso overlooking the approaches to Lisbon on the mouth of the River Tagus.

Much of the collection was an opportunity for me to broaden my knowledge of Portuguese involvement in their Overseas or Colonial Wars in Africa and India in the 1960's and 70's.

Very nice collection, and well displayed. Worth visiting if I ever get over that way!

JJ,
I visited the fort on my last day in Lisbon last Fall. It is a very interesting fort to see. It covers the history of the Overseas Operation much better than the Military Museum. They were fixing a couple of areas that I was unable to tour at the time, but I am glad to see that there are a few new items that weren't there on my last stop.
