Great model! Maybe I'm just in the right mood, since I finished a Gripping Beast battering ram for my Vikings yesterday. It came with a penthouse (a cover protecting the ram and the men working it), but without any men to work it.
The Uruks really do look like they are leaning into the work. Wish GB made men to push the ram and fit inside the narrow confines of the penthouse.
I have been wondering about doing sieges, too. The Viking siege of Paris (885-886) seems too big, too complex, and too long for a game, so I've started thinking about besieging a tower or fortified church. Something one or two boatloads of men could possibly do. If they cannot capture the tower after a couple days, they go off to loot some other place.
Thinking about what you said, if the defenders could destroy or seriously damage the ram, the Vikings would probably go off someplace else, rather than continue the siege.
