Last Thursday, I spoke to an 8th grade class in Spencer, Oklahoma. It is a very interesting town with a lot of history related to the black cowboy experience. The students were very sharp, inquisitive and polite and I enjoyed my visit.

Very interesting article. A few of the classic films had some vaqueros and cowboys, in the sense of the article, but they were usually minor figures.

It is good to see them getting their due.

Really interesting link, thanks! Wasn't aware of Dom Flemon's cowboy album, I'll have to look out for that.
